Nearby Beaumont-du-Perigord

Just 7km away you will find the bastide of Beaumont, built in 1272, by Lucas de Thaney, at the request of the then King of England, Edward I. The region was then under English ownership. The aim of the bastides in the region, were to create trading opportunities. Today only the 'Porte de Luzier' remains, from what would have been a fortified bastide. From this gate, there is a nice walk of 13.8km, which can be undertaken, which will take you around 3.5 hours to complete. Details for this walk can be found in the ' Walking in the Dordogne' book, page 179, which you will find in the house, along with many other leaflets on things to do in the Dordogne.

Beaumont offers a market on Tuesdays, a great boulangerie (Mamy Clafouti), a few restaurants, bars, boucherie / traiteur, beauty treatments, perfumerie and much more. Just before, Beaumont you will also find a supermarket which offers absolutely all you need for your holidays and those great BBQs.
